The Network Engineer is responsible for responding to level two issues that arise and escalations from the Network Operations Center or service desk. This person will proactively work with senior members of the Managed Services practice to provide exceptional support for our managed client portfolio. Responsibilities React and resolve cases submitted or automatically alerted by monitoring tools. Troubleshoot basic issues and provide solution options and recommendations. Perform minor software upgrades on network infrastructure. Conduct proactive performance assessments of clients' network environments, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement. Aid other team members in the resolution of cases within the scope of the skillset. Assist with information gathering and reporting to either clients or Client Success Managers. Collaborate with senior engineers to elevate issues as needed. Develop, maintain, and update technical knowledge base articles. Interact with clients on an as needed basis through virtual meetings, phone calls, email, or messaging. Collaboration with peers across Managed Services practice. Participate in on-call rotation. After-hours / weekend work may be required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1 -3 years in Cisco or other network related environments. Accountability to drive resolution to completion. Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment and technologies, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and sense of ownership. Experience working for an MSP. Advanced degree or relevant certifications in Information Technology, or a related field are a plus. Have or working toward entry level certifications, e.g. CCNA, Azure Fundamentals, etc. Experience navigating ticketing systems, e.g. Service Now. Experience using monitoring tools, e.g. Logic Monitor. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
